Carabao Dairy Farmers of Baliuag Bulacan
Kala Milk Soap supports the carabao dairy farmers of Baliuag, Bulacan by providing additional income through a steady demand for carabao milk. The farmers are able to earn an extra P200 to P500 per day from a few hours’ work of milking their carabaos in the morning, leaving them the rest of the day to pursue other endeavors. The income is especially important during the non-harvest season when funds become limited, thus allowing them to continue providing for their family’s needs.
We are fully committed to the sustainable development of the carabao dairy industry in Bulacan. Through the efforts of Kala Milk Soap owner TJ Gonzales, the Philippine Carabao Center (PCC) has awarded 25 farmers with imported carabaos from Italy. These carabaos will allow the farmers to produce 2 to 3 times more carabao milk than the native carabaos.
